We have worked with over 100 charities, providing strategic and operational support in relation to income and impact. Strategic support has included a range of projects such as strategy development and strategic reviews as well as providing advice, analysis, research and facilitation to support management and boards with decision making. Operational support has included a range of practical tasks, including developing compelling cases for support, better demonstrating impact and writing funding bids, with over £25 million raised.
Increasingly we are providing our clients with an integrated service that offers practical support at both a strategic and operational level. The description of services on the website will be updated to reflect this in due course but in the meantime you can e-mail us to find out more.
On our website you can find out more about our work; a full client list with case studies and testimonials; and the learning we share through our podcast, articles, events and reports.
KEDA Consulting is the company established by Alex Blake in 2013, to help charities and other social impact organisations to increase their income and impact.
Clients are most commonly small to medium size charities (73% have income under £2m), working in the UK to improve the lives of people facing various types of disadvantages; while some clients have a focus that doesn’t include front line services and some are much larger.
Our clients include charities, CiCs, and other social impact organisations. While we enjoy working on a range of causes across sectors, the key theme is to support people facing disadvantage and injustice. Most of our clients are UK focussed, although we have worked with some international NGOs.
You can find a full client list, case studies and testimonials on the Clients page.
Alex Blake is our sole consultant and works with our clients to increase their income and impact.
Where clients request support in other areas, we have a strong network of individuals and organisations in the sector that we can make introductions or signpost to.
During 2014 to 2021, we worked with a number of talented associates and staff to deliver support to our clients and we thank them for their service.
We have worked with over 100 charities, providing strategic and operational support in relation to income and impact. Alex has been the lead consultant for the majority of these clients and has delivered a range of strategic consultancy and operational support as described on our service pages. Alex has now raised over £35 million, as well as achieving a wider impact through strategic consulting and advice.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Alex began his career in the charity sector as a fundraiser, successfully raising over £10 million with roles at St Christopher’s Hospice, ORBIS International, WaterAid and the National Autistic Society. These roles helped to develop skills in strategic thinking, problem-solving, bid writing, project design and management, relationship building and communication.
In addition, Alex holds voluntary roles on charity boards and committees; shares learning through his podcast, events and articles as well as leading sector publications and conferences; and holds certifications including PRINCE2 Practitioner, Fundraising Management, BA in Business Management and full membership at the Institute of Consulting.
