Wednesday 14 July 2021 | 10.00-12.00
This event follows the launch of our report, which draws on the responses of 248 charities to our Trust Fundraising Scorecard, 53 conversations with fundraisers / charity leaders to discuss their results and 22 conversations with grant-seekers and grant-makers to discuss the questions in our report, which will be available at the start of July.
Questions of how to improve the way we achieve our charitable objectives and/or the way funding systems operate are far too complex for us to draw a conclusion from the work we have undertaken in preparing the report. So, we invite you to explore these questions with us further by joining our online event to explore the following questions:
How can we collaborate (grant-seekers and grant-makers) to better serve our communities with a more effective and efficient system for funding and delivering social change?
Can we envision a radical alternative to the current system, as opposed to making incremental improvements?
We are currently planning the format of the event but the basic concept is to enable attendees to share their views and generate ideas. Following the event, we will write a brief paper with proposals for potential pilots of alternative ways of funding social change, which we will share with interested grant-makers.
If you represent a grant-maker interested in piloting an alternative funding model, please let us know by e-mailing email@example.com – by registering your interest, you will receive the paper described above and an invitation to join an iterative process of exploring the opportunity to pilot an alternative model of funding social change.
This event, like our grant-making trends webinars, is completely free with no strings. You can join us for free by booking your place below, but we would like to ask if you will also join us in supporting Operation Underground Railroad, a charity that exists to rescue children from sex trafficking and sexual exploitation.
There are two million children around the world enslaved in sex trafficking. This is such a shocking issue that most people cannot bear to think about it, but that only serves the perpetrators. Human trafficking is worth $150 billion annually. It is the fastest growing criminal enterprise on the planet.
In the past six years, O.U.R. has rescued 4,100 victims, assisted in the arrests of more than 2,300 traffickers, and collectively helped rescue more than 10,000 survivors through strategic partnerships.
We first learned about O.U.R. from a podcast episode with O.U.R. founder, Tim Ballard, which moved us to do what we can to support this cause. Please join us in helping O.U.R. to rescue more children from sex trafficking by making a donation at https://my.ourrescue.org/fundraisers/kedas-appeal-for-our.
Register for your place below. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
When you submit your details to book a place, you will receive an auto-acknowledgement by email. Within a few days, we will send a confirmation email with some further information and you will receive the webinar joining link one hour before the event. If you do not receive these emails, please check your spam folder.
