The trust fundraising and bid writing process can be challenging, frustrating and deliver low success rates when your team have limited experience or aren’t sure where to focus. We’ve developed our training to help you build your skills in what drives success in this key area of income generation. After this training programme, you will be better equipped to:

Our Trust Fundraising Training

The training is a step-by-step masterclass with practical tools and resources that you can use to develop your charity’s trust fundraising programme.

We will explore the practical elements of trust fundraising including:

  1. Prospects: how to identify and prioritise the funders that are most likely to support your charity with the size of grant funding you need.
  2. Case for support: how to articulate, with evidence and emotion, why funders should support your charity/project.
  3. Applications: how to tailor approaches to meet the requirements of each prioritised funder from initial phone calls through to written applications.
  4. Relationships with funders: how to exceed reporting requirements, demonstrate impact and build lasting relationships with funders.
  5. Management: how to develop the internal relationships you need to build compelling cases for support and applications.

The purpose of this training is to deliver practical advice that you can take and apply to your own charity. Each session will be around two hours, comprising advice, discussion and interactive activities. The training will be delivered through a combination of video chat and screen sharing.

A series of digital practical handouts and links to additional resources will accompany each module with a small task set between each session. There are also opportunities for peer support and continued collaboration with other participants.

Who delivers this training?

Since KEDA Consulting was established in November 2013, we have secured over £20 million for our clients and our team have raised millions more in their prior roles. On average, for every £1 spent on our trust fundraising services, our clients have received £12 in grant income, compared to an industry benchmark of £9. Our training is based on our skills, knowledge and resources that have been built over time and are used in practice daily through our trust fundraising service for clients. We are always learning about what works best and how grant making trends are developing so that we can incorporate this into our client service and training programme.

Our trust fundraising training is delivered by Amy Appleton, one of KEDA Consulting’s team of fundraising consultants since April 2018. Amy has a strong track record of securing large grants for our clients and helping them to develop successful trust fundraising programmes that maximise their grant funding potential. Amy has a popular training style and has received excellent feedback from participants at our training events and at external conferences, for example Amy received the highest feedback scores of all speakers at the Institute of Fundraising’s 2019 North East Fundraising Conference.
