SERVICES TO INCREASE INCOME
Tenders / bids / applications
We provide bid writing support on major funding opportunities, such as statutory or Lottery grant programmes, tenders and large trust applications.
We can either lead on the bid development process, ensuring that all required information is gathered in a timely manner and producing the most compelling responses to funder questions; or we can act as a ‘critical friend’, reviewing draft content and providing advice during the bid development process.
Review of fundraising programme
If your charity has a well-established fundraising programme but you believe it is not reaching its potential, we undertake a review of your programme’s outputs and results.
Our 2020-21 research with 248 charities found that 94% of grant-seekers believe their charity is not maximising its grant funding potential.
Our work involves a documentation review, benchmarking and individual conversations with key staff. We provide a report with analysis, findings and recommendations on how to increase income.
Grants fundraising programme set up
If your charity is new to grants fundraising or is seeking to invest in this income stream for the first time, we set your programme up for success through delivering the following steps (typically over a period of around 6 months):
Undertake prospect research
Develop the case for support
Build the pipeline and forecasting tool
Prepare high priority applications
Handover to a member of staff or freelancer
Provide access to trust fundraising training
Continue to support as an advisor (optional).
Case for support
We work with you to articulate, with evidence and emotion, why funders should support your charity/project. This involves a review of existing content, plus a workshop and/or 1-2-1 discussions to gain an in depth understanding of your work so we can write the most compelling case for support. This can be an organisational case for support to secure unrestricted funding or can focus on a particular project or service.
Each case for support we develop provides the building blocks for subsequent funding applications and the content can also be used in other fundraising and marketing communications.

Additional benefits
As well as securing funding and receiving key outputs such as cases for support and prospect lists, our clients often describe intangible benefits resulting from our work.
For example, service and finance colleagues gain a better understanding of what funders are looking for and are better equipped to support future bids; and the process of developing a case for support often helps colleagues in ways that can lead to service improvements, through developing clearer plans, building in improved learning mechanisms or better demonstrating impact.

If you are looking for trust fundraising training, we offer three low-cost, high-value modules that cover the key elements of grantseeking. These courses include video training content in bite size chunks, with activities, resources and templates, currently at just £35.99 per course.

SUCCESS STORIES
I was very impressed by the amount that had been achieved and the quality of the work. Not only had KEDA been focused on delivering income, they had made significant progress in developing much needed systems and processes. In my many years as a Fundraising Director I have rarely seen such positive impact from external fundraising support.
We hadn’t done any proactive trusts and foundation fundraising before … they have supported us to secure over £400,000. They really understand, working sensitively, taking the time to listen to our needs and deliver quality work. KEDA have become part of our team and supported us to make significant progress to improving lives and outcomes for those affected by primary bone cancer.”
