West End Refugee Service (WERS) is one of the major support agencies for asylum seekers and refugees in Newcastle upon Tyne, offering a range of integrated services which complement the statutory package of government support.
WERS was considering how it could diversify sources of income and review its approach to income generation but did not have the capacity internally to develop a strategy and action plan.
We undertook an in depth diagnostic and workshops; research to identify opportunities and provided insight into areas of best practice before developing a strategy and action plan to focus on income generation and fundraising for WERS that could be adopted by the small staff team.Fundraising beyond grant applications is a new area for me as the new Director with WERS. To have an experienced objective view of the charity and the sector in which we work which lead to tangible recommendations was really useful.
